Hot rugby players

Who's the hottest in your opinion? To me, is Italian hunk Mirco Bergamasco.

R15 - thanks for introducing me to David Pocock. Not only is he dead sexy, he also appears to be an incredibly intelligent, thoughtful person. I mean listen to him talking about his charity:

[quote]In discussing Eightytwenty Vision you have mentioned the frequent portrayal of poverty stricken Africans as hopeless, weak and unresourceful. Do you believe traditional approaches to aid have been partly built on racist assumptions? How is Eightytwenty Vision different?

[quote]Traditional approaches to aid have often been built around racist, colonial notions of the aid recipients. They frequently undermine the skills of those same recipients – painting them merely as the helpless, hapless victims of circumstance who have neither the resources nor skill to help themselves. And whilst it’s often true that they are resource poor – this is all too frequently the result of the colonial histories that have devastated their lands and sold off their natural resources to multinationals. Sometimes the question of corruption is bandied around – as if Africans were the first to bring corrupt governance to the continent – ignoring a long and sordid history of genocides, slavery, theft, corruption, environmental devastation and so on. At Eightytwenty Vision we firmly believe – not in an end justifies the means kind of rhetoric but rather that the means create the ends. So if we want to see the community we’re working with in Nkayi, Zimbabwe flourish, be autonomous and self sufficient – we can’t begin by painting them as simple minded peasants or merely publicising the disease and malnutrition that plagues their community.

[quote]So on an ideological level that explains our position but to really understand our commitment to how we do things it’s important to talk about our experience. The people of Nkayi are resourceful, dedicated, hard working, determined. They are fighting damned hard to create a future for their children that speaks of hope and dignity. They want their children to be fed and educated. To have jobs, a livelihood. To struggle less than they did. The women particularly are some of the most hard-working people I have ever met. They are enterprising and intelligent. They have learnt to pool their resources, to lean on one another. They fight daily to make a better future. Working in dusty fields they cannot even own, for hours on end, to grow food for their children. And while they work they sing songs to ward off laziness and complacency. They have the firmest understanding of the way joy and sorrow live alongside one another. There is no way I could paint these women as victims – even if it would generate more funds for them from donors here longing for a photo of a malnourished child to have their hand to their chequebook. It would be a travesty if anyone ever spoke of these women in a way that didn’t testify to their spirit and determination. This is not to romanticise them – they still struggle and lapse. They are not some sort of ‘goddess warriors’ or indestructible Amazonians but they are women whose dignity is so obvious upon meeting them that I would feel ashamed if I ever spoke of them otherwise.

[quote]And that is the image I carry with me when I’m battling with the difficulty of raising money or feeling the burden of trying to juggle so many things. And that’s the reason Eightytwenty doesn’t subscribe to a fundraising platform that is based on guilt. We are simply working alongside a community who well know their needs and have many skills to meet them – they just need some assistance in tools and training which we have the means to provide (thus far).

Sorry, just following up on my prior post here, because after reading David Pocock's insightful comments about colonialism and the way that the west views Africa, I decided to read up on him and it turns out he's also a bit of social justice warrior (but in a GOOD way) - actively and unapologetically campaigning against homophobia - in sports and in the greater society. And, apparently, he and his partner Emma have said they wouldn't get married until their LGBT friends had the same right. Jesus Christ. Any Aussies here? Is every Australian gay in love w/ this man? Gorgeous and a total class act.

i wouldn't kick most of them out of bed. Rugby players love showing off their bods. It's just part of the sport. It's a very sexually charged sport

by Anonymousreply 42September 13, 2015 8:18 PM

Jesus Christ I don't think American athletes have anything on these guys.

Even if they have the face they don't have the beautifully proportioned bodies to match.

by Anonymousreply 43September 13, 2015 8:23 PM

they are studs, and sex it like nobody's business.

by Anonymousreply 44September 13, 2015 8:34 PM

R41, David Pocock never ceases to amaze me. Don't judge a book by its cover, I guess. The guy could easily be just another dumb jock, but he's an intelligent, compassionate, thoughtful man. Climate change activist; passionate and outspoken advocate for marriage equality (he and his fiance said they weren't getting married until their gay friends could do so); raises animals and organic vegetables with his fiance; co-founded a charity that helps impoverished communities in Zimbabwe become self-sustaining. Oh, and he looks like this. Beautiful inside and out.

by Anonymousreply 49September 14, 2015 1:48 PM

Had more sex with different guys than ever in my life when i was on a gay rugby team in Chicago a few years ago. Just something about the sport and sex go together. It was pretty much a given i was banging a teammate or an opposing team member after practice or a game. Just kinda how that went

by Anonymousreply 50September 15, 2015 12:49 AM

I love how so many of the Rugby players don't even pretend to be shy and love showing off. It's just seems to go along wit the sport.

Rugby players are huge, but super fit. Love the v shape with the wide shoulders. Sonny bill Williams has an amazing body, even by rugby standards.

In contrast, American football players aren't all as fit. It's improved a lot over the last couple of decades but you still see giant offensive guards with beer bellies. In rugby union, there are players of varying sizes, but they are all in super shape. No one is out there with their tummy hanging over their waistband.

by Anonymousreply 74November 7, 2015 2:42 PM

I was lucky enough to have met both Sean and Rory Lamont (Rory's my favourite. Have him gift-wrapped and delivered to my bed chamber!) and to be honest, both of them are absolutely lovely guys, funny and goodlooking to boot as well. There's an image associated with rugby players in that they're usually thick arseholes who struggle to string a sentence together, but a lot of these guys are actually really rather clever. I don't know whether it's the backgrounds they come from, or the fact that - especially in the UK - these guys are not treated like the uber-celebrities that football/soccer players are held up to be.

Plus - and this is coming from a guy who dated a rugby player and whose best friends are rugby players - they're rather adorable to be around. Plus, they give the best hugs. Bit squishy and you feel a bit bruised (and dazed), but yeah, good hugs. The sex is usually pretty damned good too.

by Anonymousreply 75November 7, 2015 3:06 PM

fuck, yeah, sex with riggers is the best way

Re: Haka...

The Haka can be quite intimidating. I've always found it intimidating when you've got some near-seven-foot-tall Maori guy glaring down at you as he screams a war cry at you. Even more so if he's naked. Those Maori guys can be *buff*.

by Anonymousreply 89December 12, 2015 12:03 PM

I get a hard on when I see the hakka

by Anonymousreply 90December 12, 2015 12:25 PM

Their tongues are very suggestive in hakka

by Anonymousreply 91December 12, 2015 12:32 PM

Ruggers seem to embrace the who homoerotism of it even if they really aren't into dudes

by Anonymousreply 92December 12, 2015 3:45 PM

When I was young in jr high and high school the athletes embraced the homoeroticism of sports because it was unspoken and therefore joyful.

Now that homosexuality is more out in the open those feelings and the display of them are completely suppressed in the US if not in France and England.
